Meet the Team

Courtney has worked as the dental office coordinator for over 20 years. Along with her husband, Matt, and their children, Mason and Emma, Courtney loves to go to the beach, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing on the Manistee River and Lake Michigan. My Why…   “With my father being a dentist and my grandfather and uncle owning a dental lab, my entire life has revolved around dentistry – from being fascinated with all the cool things in my grandfather’s lab, to helping file charts and mowing the lawn after school, to eventually working full time at the front desk. Dental technology has changed so much in such a short amount of time. When I started, I had to type every insurance claim and mail them, appointments were written in a book, x-rays had to be developed, fillings were silver metal (amalgam), and crowns contained metals. Now claim filing is electronic, appointments are computerized, x-rays are digital, and restorations are metal-free. I look forward to what will be next because it just keeps getting better. The past 20 years “up front” have given me the opportunity to work with some really terrific coworkers and meet a lot of amazing people. The personal relationships with all the patients over the years has been the best part of my day. I truly feel blessed to personally know many generations of families and to have shared in their many life’s joys and even sorrows. Seeing people love coming to the dentist always makes me smile. I love seeing the transformation from nervous or embarrassed to happy and confident. A nice smile really is a huge part of a person’s confidence. I am proud to work at BWD with an amazingly talented, caring dentist and a team that works together with the same goal, to provide the best dental experience for our patients.”
